Sheepskin Ranch is more than a business—it’s a family legacy, rooted in craftsmanship, resilience, and a dedication to enhancing lives through the natural benefits of sheepskin. Our story began in 1913, when CEO Barbara Ander’s grandfather worked in a small design house in London. From London to Argentina, and eventually to the United States, the family’s passion for sheepskin grew into one of the largest sheepskin processing facilities in the country.
Resilience in Every Fiber
Barbara met her husband, Sidney, in New York. Both Deaf, they shared a unique understanding of resilience and a deep commitment to helping others. Sidney, a pioneering sheepskin chemist, became one of the first in the U.S. to develop washable medical-grade sheepskin that retained its natural, healing properties. Together, they transformed sheepskin into a therapeutic material—leading to the creation of what is now our Sofsheep® Medical line, trusted by hospitals and caregivers for its natural, washable, and therapeutic properties. With antimicrobial, antibacterial, and non-toxic qualities, this sheepskin quickly became a go-to solution in the medical community.

In Fort Worth, Texas, where every Sheepskin Ranch product is handcrafted, Barbara remains closely involved in day-to-day operations. Her passion for quality and purpose drives everything we do. Today, our products are used across the country in hospitals, nursing homes, VA centers, rehabilitation clinics, and physical therapy programs. Beyond clinical settings, our Wellness Collection supports mindful movement in yoga and Pilates studios, including Sheepskin Fuzzies—plush, washable covers for canvas straps that bring softness, hygiene, and a touch of luxury to every session.
